Open Window, Upper Winchendon

photo: Malcolm Aslett

As you frame a shot in your viewfinder of the countryside and the fresh bales of hay in the field opposite it occurs to you that as you are looking out the window why not pan down to show the sill, and then you think maybe you can include your hand too as you are holding it at the bottom. Then you put it together and it becomes not only a photo of a place at a certain moment but also includes elements of you taking the picture.
